I’m Broc Edwards. I spend my days working in leadership development and human resources and thinking about intersection of business and people. I am passionate about the human side of business and think helping people and organizations live and perform at their full potential is BIG FUN. When I’m not doing that, I’m trying to keep up with my family and running and mountain biking near my house.
I started this blog as an outlet to explore ideas, connect with people around the world, and play bigger. I write about human resources, leadership, innovation, personal development, customer service, strategy, authenticity, humanness, flying the freak flag, and whatever else comes to mind. I have a hard time isolating my thoughts to one arena, so “business, humans, and stuff” describes it pretty well. This blog is a way of kicking around some ideas and findng ways to have a bigger impact. W. Clement Stone said, “All I want to do is change the world.” That’s where my ambition starts.
The name for this blog comes from a quote by T. Boone Pickens: “A fool with a plan can beat a genius with no plan.” For me this is a reminder that practical actions, done consistently are generally superior to sporadic or poorly executed brilliance. Imperfect action beats perfect inaction and the best ideas in the world are absolutely worthless… until the moment we put them into action. (It’s also a reminder not to take myself too seriously.)

Let’s have some fun!

I love the T. Boone Pickens quote. I look forward to reading more.
